If you haven't already tried, you could uninstall Origin, launch the game from Steam, and you should be prompted to install Origin.Someone seems to think that this post is objectionable even though it's the only functional solution to the regard to the games recently added to Steam and which require the Origin client, I have never heard of someone who used a game code to add any of those games, although some people have received activation messages stating, "Activate Game: Select this option to activate the game using your product code" when their accounts didn't properly link, and that sounds like what is happening to you. To anyone else who experiences this issue I must apologize to you as you will not get this issue resolved through Origin even though it is something they should be able to assist you with easily. My account is the one it's registered to. The obvious solution to this issue would be for Origin to supply me with with a new key and remove the old game copy from my account since that key is already registered to my origin account but for whatever reason it's refusing to accept me entering it again because it states that the key I'm attempting to give it is already registered to another account, which it is registered to another account. This was never an issue with Steam, this is an issue with far as I'm aware the account is linked, Chat support had me do the DPI and admin EAlink changes twice and it didn't work either time though when launching either of the games which had this problem it was much more apparent that EAlink.exe was launching as it would pop up stating that it was running in admin mode upon launching the games. I still have 2 games in my Origin Library which will ask me to activate them on launch, even without Steam launching them anymore. I am lucky that both games were purchased recently enough that I was able to get them refunded on Steam in order to facilitate this fix. These are DIGITAL KEYS which have already been paid for by me and I should not have needed to go through this process twice to fix it. I put in the work to get this done correctly when Origin could have simply provided a second complimentary key and removed the duplicate from my Origin account. I have since purchased both games on Steam again and now everything works perfectly fine through Steam AND Origin and I only have the games in my Steam library once but in Origin twice. Steam was already connected to my Origin account and was sending the correct and only validation Origin key which was sent to Origin on launch of the games in Steam the first time and was being declined by Origin as an "Unidentified Game" for whatever reason, which had nothing to do with Steam launching the game. Origin was no longer looking for me to register either of these games again, and EA customer support gave me two new keys to both of them, and now in Origin they function perfectly fine. present you with why my solution is the only solution. ![]()
